We start with the process of defining the build, components, modules, and data set that the particular system needs to satisfy the requirements presented. Moving to the logical design of a system we research and develop the proper data flows, inputs and outputs of the system. This is often conducted via logical modelling, using an over-abstract (and sometimes graphical) model of the actual system. Finally we will take our logical system and build in in a pre-production environment parallel to your production environment, test the systems and then integrate them into full production. This process guarantees that the negative impacts of the integration stays at a minimum.
